Coronavirus – Budapest Airport remains operational
Budapest’s Liszt Ferenc International Airport remains operational but only Hungarians and holders of a residence permit may enter the country after passport control, the airport’s operator, Budapest Airport, said on Tuesday.
Also, arrivals will be restricted to Terminal 2B.
Foreign and Hungarian citizens are allowed to travel from Hungary.
Airport police are checking the travel documents of all passengers who have the right to stay in Hungary and can prove it. This means the citizens of the EU, EEA, UK, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.
For Hungarian families with non-Hungarian members, a child, parent, grandparent or spouse may enter Hungary if they are not Hungarian citizens.
Hungarians arriving from South Korea, Iran, Israel, China and Italy will continue to be screened on entry.
Meanwhile, foreigners banned from entering the territory of Hungary must wait in the designated transit area.
Budapest Airport is providing blankets, food, mineral water and a face mask to passengers in transit.
All arrivals are processed at Terminal 2B, where document controls are also taking place.
